Glow of the Darkness
Dim light fades into the night While darkness glows internally Soaking away the moon's soft light And preying upon its own shadows As the scene slowly succumbs To an abyssal depth with might
Who can truly know the glow Of those dark forces lacking sight Those who plunder in the void Their evil hearts aglow not right, Their dire motives wish for death But it consumes them in their plight
Harrowing calls into the night Reek of havoc long lost from the light And no salvation is for them Those in the darkness lost from sight And no pity nor compassion is in their heart Nor ought any be given for their strife
Gone along the shadows they go Like the demons they are unright The monsters like fear, envy, jealousy, Like pain, sorrow, morbidity, and strife They prey upon misery and loss Begotten by the turmoil of the night
Death is coming, death is soon they say They are the demons and are unright Their veil of shadows lasts long Away from the moon's soft light Stay aware and keep your heart alight They are real and guard your mind tight

As always, you have a way to make words flow. I really enjoyed this poem, but I am always interested in demons and the night...
