Following the Broken Path
Stepping so strongly
stones break under each footstep
causing rubble beneath the feet
following the broken path
worn down since antiquity
Follow along the broken path,
pummel the stones to sand
as time wears out the old
and newer things grow on the land
and dirt paths leave stories untold
Following the broken path
is to aid the ease of travel
for lost souls lost on lost causes
never to be found again
except upon the ground when one pauses
