Light of the Autumn Dusk By Robert Stephen Herrick
In the clouded fading light Upon the dusk of an Autumn sky, I see Streetlights in a golden dim Hue alight the gold and Deep red leaves under the gray, Now turning lavendar purple Above in the clouds, rain Falling down.
From the sky, light fails To be as strong as the Man-made bulbs glowing but, Dimly showing some strength, Yet, the leaves darken into Shadows upon semi-gnarled Branches and wet trunks Yearning for sleep, Yearning for winter's sleep.
